Slave labor.....

Well, I think I'm finally recovering from last weekend's workout's. No these are multisport related workouts, I'm talking about 20 hours of manual labor, flower beds, raking stone for the patio, sweeping and stacking firewood. I was so wiped out that I fell asleep at 8:00 on Monday! Everything is going to look great, so we're excited.

Best part of the weekend was watching the kids have a blast on the backhoe with Pop's! All Joshua could say all weekend was "Pop's has tractor". We couldn't get Autumn off of it! Good times had by all. Now we're waiting on the contractor to finish.

Training wise, last weekend put me back a little bit but not too bad. I've decided to skip Boston and focus on the Du Nationals on 4/26, and with Todd Wiley's recommendations I have been letting go of my running mileage in return for cycling mileage. I feel like I'm making big progress on the bike, but we won't see until the tune up race on 4/11!

Pictures and updates to follow!

Busy week

What a great week. Last Friday, Lauren and I had a little get away. My mom was gracious enough to watch the kids and we flew down to Albany, GA and paced a small marathon. I paced the 3:20 group and Lauren paced the 3:40 group. What an awesome, rewarding experience. It was a small town, the expo was great, race was well organized and the weather was incredible! Got us out of our little "winter funk", that's for sure. It was so rewarding to see how excited the group members were when they hit their goals, made it to Boston for the first time, etc. We're greatful to PacerJim and Under Armour for the opportunity. Once the marathon was over, we grabbed a shower and headed to town for lunch, found a great Souther bar-b-que pit and had a great lunch. Then, to my surprise, there was a bike race in town, so I got to watch some bike racing! Weather was great, couldn't have been a better day. Got home late Saturday PM.

Then to my surprise on Monday, Lauren and the kids picked me up from work to take me to a "secret" destination.......turned out to be an overnight stay at the Great Wolf Lodge! What a blast! Autumn was pretty sad when it was time to leave. Thanks for the suprise!
Fun in the wave pool.....

Time for the sweets shop!
Tonight I'm headed up to meet a friend in Wilkes Barre to watch a motorcycle race. Haven't been to one of them in a long time, should be fun!
